Party

We went to Clacton this weekend for Anna's aunt and uncle's 50th wedding anniversary which was on Friday (which was also mine and Anna's 5th and Anna's parents' 30th anniversaries). The party was in a local restaurant where they had a singer and pianist. Nicky enjoyed himself as he always does at big gatherings, by running around and talking to everyone, but we had to leave fairly early on (about 9.30pm) as the music was rather loud and Kitty couldn't settle.

Yesterday was fairly quiet, we had breakfast at the Toby Carvery, which wasn't as good as I'd hoped for, and the 2 for £6 offer we had didn't include drinks - once you include two teas for £1.95 each you're pretty much paying the full cost anyway.

Woken up today to find that Virgin Media is having routing issues, so several websites (including major ones like Wikipedia and the Guardian) are unavailable. Of course, my first port of call is the Virgin status checker, which says that everything has a 'good service'. So I called up their phone line which admits they have a nationwide problem. Sorry, but not being able to access websites does not constitute a good service! I'm sure they have some SLA in place which means if a certain percentage of sites are available they can claim a good service, but it's pretty crap from a customer perspective. Really not happy with them.
